Representative John Carter (TX-31) and Baylor Scott & White Greater Austin Region President Jay Fox today announced $3 million for equipment and renovations for the high-tech cardiac catheterization lab at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock. Representative John Carter (TX-31) announced $3,148,711 in Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding for Texas’ 31st district today. The CARES Act established $5 billion in supplemental Community Development Block Grant funding to help localities prevent, prepare for and respond to coronavirus. This money comes from that allocation and is part of the third tranche of CDBG CARES Act funding.

A funding appropriations bill in front of lawmakers in the U.S. House this week takes aim at zebra mussels, the invasive species that has infested several lakes across Texas and the U.S. Rep. John Carter (TX-31) said he has included language in H.R. 7608, the minibus appropriations bill, to instruct the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to create technologies to combat and prevent the spread of zebra mussels.
