KVUE: House bill aims to eliminate invasive zebra mussels 'without chemical agents'

A funding appropriations bill in front of lawmakers in the U.S. House this week takes aim at zebra mussels, the invasive species that has infested several lakes across Texas and the U.S. Rep. John Carter (TX-31) said he has included language in H.R. 7608, the minibus appropriations bill, to instruct the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to create technologies to combat and prevent the spread of zebra mussels.

Representative John Carter (TX-31) passed an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act to give military recycling centers the authority to accept quality recyclable goods from local communities and allow the profits from the sale of these materials to go to the Soldier Morale, Welfare & Recreation account. Rep. Carter offered the amendment with Representatives Sanford Bishop (D-GA), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Richard Hudson (D-NC), Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD), and Steve Womack (R-AK).

Carter Stands Up for Sportsmen, Law Enforcement, Military with Amendment to Interior Appropriations Bill

Representative John Carter (TX-31) will offer an amendment to the FY20 Interior Appropriations bill during the full committee mark-up today. The amendment prohibits the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating the lead content of ammunition, ammunition components, or fishing tackle.
