Carter Applauds Trump Administration Decision to Withdraw the Waters of the US Rule Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) released the following statement in regards to the Trump Administration’s decision to withdraw the Waters of the U.S. rule implemented under President Obama. “Today’s action by the Trump Administration to repeal the Waters of the US rule is outstanding news for our farmers, ranchers, land owners, and businesses. The rule significantly expanded the scope of federal jurisdiction and undermined Texas’ authority over its state waters. I am proud the President listened to the people, instead of Washington bureaucrats, and rejected this gross overreach by the EPA. Texans should control Texas water, not Washington, DC bureaucrats!” Rep. Carter represents Texas District 31, which includes Fort Hood, the largest active duty armored military installation in the free world. He serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, co-chairman of the Congressional Army Caucus, is on the Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. |
