Carter Secures $3 million for Cardiac Equipment and Renovations at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock

Representative John Carter (TX-31) and Baylor Scott & White Greater Austin Region President Jay Fox today announced $3 million for equipment and renovations for the high-tech cardiac catheterization lab at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock. The funding will provide additional equipment to help medical staff save lives during cardiac emergencies as the region continues to grow. Representative Carter secured the funding in the Labor Health and Human Services appropriations bill.

The funding will provide additional equipment to help medical staff save lives during cardiac emergencies as the region continues to grow. Representative Carter secured the funding in the Labor Health and Human Services appropriations bill.
 
“Time is of the essence when treating patients with cardiovascular emergencies,” said Representative Carter. “With Round Rock’s growing population, it’s important that the areas’ hospitals are well-equipped with the necessary facilities to treat patients quickly and save lives. I’m proud to work with Baylor Scott & White, the largest non-profit healthcare system in Texas, on this important funding that will benefit our community.”
 
“On behalf of our dedicated care teams, we appreciate Representative Carter’s efforts to enhance our cardiac care capabilities as we serve our growing communities,” said Fox. Baylor Scott & White has seen an increase of more than 30 percent in the number of patients needing care over the last five years. “This essential equipment will be used by our caregivers to treat patients experiencing cardiac arrest, building on our commitment to provide quality care close to home.”
