Carter Votes to Protect Texans, the Homeland

Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) voted in support of H.R. 4038 – American SAFE Act which prevents admission to the United States of any proposed Syrian or Iraqi refugee until the nation’s top security officials unanimously certify that the individual does not represent a security threat.  It makes an already thorough process more secure by putting in place the most robust national-security vetting process in history for any refugee population.

“I am committed to keeping Texans safe. While I favor a ban on allowing refugees into our nation, I proudly supported the American SAFE Act as an added step in securing our homeland. I will continue to support all efforts to put our national security first and I stand against any polices that open the door to radical extremists who are focused on destroying our way of life.”
