Carter Sworn into 6th Term, Chairmanship of Homeland Security Subcommittee Congressman John Carter was sworn into his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives today, with a new assignment for the 113th Congress as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee. “This is a tremendous honor for which I am in debt to the people of Central Texas. It is also an incredible opportunity to influence border security, immigration reform, and the overall homeland security of our nation,” says Carter. “I am resolved to build a consensus for bipartisan solutions that can become law in a divided government, and I look forward to working with members of the committee from both parties to achieve this goal.” ### |
