Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31), voted in favor of the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015 which will put a moratorium on all federal funding to Planned Parenthood for at least a year while the organization is under federal investigation. Additionally, he voted in favor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act that requires health care workers to provide medical care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion. This bill applies stronger penalties in cases where an overt action is taken to kill an abortion survivor. Rep. Carter is a co-sponsor of both bills. “I have seen the horrendous videos showing the grotesque practice of harvesting and selling pre-born baby body parts that Planned Parenthood executives condone and encourage,” said Rep. Carter. “This evil practice must stop.” “Tax payers should not be responsible for funding an organization that aborts babies, negotiates side deals to sell their body parts, and lets babies that survived an abortion die on the operating table. As a former Judge, I have dealt with countless murder cases, and this is murder in my book.” Rep. Carter represents Texas District 31, which includes Fort Hood, the largest military installation in the free world. He serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, is on the Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. ### |
