Rep. John Carter (R-TX-31) voted to defund Obamacare, protect the life of the unborn, and create jobs and job opportunities for our veterans by voting in favor of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 Labor, Health and Human Services funding bill. “I was proud to once again vote to defund, and dismantle Obamacare,” said Rep. Carter. “Obamacare is ill-conceived and poorly crafted legislation that I strongly oppose. I will not stop fighting until we abolish this law and enact common-sense reforms.” “I also voted to protect the lives of the unborn by supporting the continuation of longstanding restrictions on abortion funding. This bill also protects the religious freedoms of insurance consumers, and employers by not forcing them to have or provide coverage that includes abortion related procedures.” “The continued success of our nation relies on a healthy economy, an educated and trained workforce, and pro-growth policies to support job creation. I voted today to support job training services for our veterans, and other job training and education to help unemployed Americans receive the training and employment assistance they need to get back into the workforce. Additionally, this bill will reduce bureaucratic red tape to U.S. businesses so they can create jobs.” For a summary of the bill, please visit: http://appropriations.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=394272 For the text of the bill, please visit: For the bill report, please visit: http://appropriations.house.gov/uploadedfiles/hrpt-114-hr-fy2016-laborhhsed.pdf ### |
