U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), U.S. Representative John Carter (R-TX31), and U.S. Representative Roger Williams (R-TX25) issued the following statements after the Secretary of the Army, John McHugh, ordered financial benefits must coincide with the Purple Heart medals for the victims of the 2009 Fort Hood terrorist attack. On Tuesday, the Fort Hood Delegation sent a letter to the Secretary McHugh urging him to follow through with the intent of the Congress that all of the Purple Heart recipients would be granted the corresponding benefits.
