Carter: Obama Violated the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act by not disclosing information on Iran Side Deals

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31), voted in favor of House Resolution 411, which states that the President, by withholding information on side deals between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, has not complied with the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act. Until all information on the deal is divulged, including side agreements, and Congress has had the opportunity by law to fully review the entire agreement, all current sanctions against Iran shall remain.

Today, the House of Representatives passed Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) legislation, which would give Congress the authority to reject or confirm any trade decision President Obama makes. The House did not vote on the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), no vote is scheduled on TPP, and none will be until all countries involved finalize negotiations and the public has been able to review TPP for at least 60 days.
