Carter Calls for Prayer, Vigilance, and Resolve on 9-11

Americans should continue to pray for the victims and families who suffered from the September 11, 2001 radical Islamic attacks against the United States, and for the military members and families who have sacrificed to defeat those enemies and protect the country from further mass attacks, according to House Republican Conference Secretary John R. Carter.

“Today should be a day of prayer, remembrance, and vigilance,” says Carter.  “This day should forever remind us of our need for vigilance against those who would harm us, support for those who defend us, and honor for those who have sacrificed for our freedom and security.”

“As we pray for the victims of this conflict and their families, let us not forget we are still suffering casualties in Afghanistan from this war that began with the enemy’s unprovoked attack on unarmed civilians eleven years ago today,” says Carter.  “Our military forces have won great victories in destroying those who attacked us on 9-11.  But we need to remember that war continues, and maintain our national resolve to provide the support our forces need to complete their mission.”
