Carter Amends House Disclosure Forms
Washington, DC,
October 23, 2009
For Immediate Release: October 23, 2009 Carter Amends House Disclosure Forms Congressman John Carter (R-TX) is amending his House Financial Disclosure forms to include the amount of capital gains from past stock sales, and called for all House members to re-examine their disclosure forms to ensure they have not made the same error. Carter in fact reported the amount of his 2006 and 2007 stock sales to the House, the amount of the capital gains on his federal tax returns, and paid his taxes in full on the capital gains. However, Carter made the common error of not also reporting the amount of the capital gains on the House forms. Carter this week provided reporters full access to his federal tax returns to confirm that all federal taxes were properly paid, and encouraged other House Members to do the same. |
