Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) released the following statement after receiving the American Conservative Achievement award from the American Conservative Union Chairman, Matt Schlapp. “It is an honor to receive the ACU Conservative Achievement award for my voting record in the United States House of Representatives. It is an honor and privilege to represent the conservative values of Central Texans here in Washington, DC. Every day, constituents reach out to me to express their dissatisfaction of the growing role of government which is why I remain committed to fighting for a limited government that promotes individual freedom, not fostering government dependence. “ “I will continue to fight to ensure Congress advances a conservative, constitutionally based agenda that promotes America’s principles of free enterprise, limited government, a strong national defense, and American family values.” The American Conservative Achievement award is given to Members of Congress who demonstrate conservative principles upon which our Republic was founded. The ACU has been a guiding force for congress since 1964 and is America’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization. To learn more, visit http://www.conservative.org/ ### |
