ROUND ROCK, T.X. – Congressman John Carter (R-TX31) is releasing the following statement regarding his recent absence from the first week of the 114th Congress. “I want to thank all of my constituents, friends and family who have expressed their concern over my one-week absence from Congress. Thanks to my annual check-up, the doctors were able to detect the very early stages of prostate cancer. I underwent a successful surgery and follow-up treatment to remove the cancer and am now back to work. I am healthy and ready to fight for Central Texas and our conservative values. This new Congress is energizing and I am excited to work with the Senate to provide real conservative solutions as we fight the liberal agenda and the President’s overreaching executive orders. My family and I would like to thank the medical team, our family and friends, all of our neighbors in Texas District 31 and our Lord and Savior for allowing me the opportunity to continue to serve the most dynamic Congressional district in the country.” |
