(Temple, TX) –Congressman John Carter (TX-31) visited the Blackland Research and Extension Center Monday, and announced an additional $1.5 million in FY18 funding for construction of the Temple Grassland, Soil and Water Research Lab.

“The research being conducted at the Blackland Research facility is helping not only our Central Texas farmers, but helping farmers around the world,” Congressman Carter said. “Blackland scientists’ research is being used across the globe to improve agriculture yield and water supply, and improve the economic well-being of the people, while increasing the sustainability of land. I’m proud of the work that Blackland continues to do, and I’m glad they will receive additional funding to complete construction of the Temple Grassland, Soil and Water Research Lab to continue that work.”
