Congressman John Carter (TX-31) introduced legislation to assist in the prosecution of juvenile sexual assault cases on military bases last week. H.R. 5392, the Military Installation Non-Adult Offender Reform (MINOR) Act directs the Department of Defense to instruct military installations to enter into negotiations to reach agreements with local prosecutors on the referral of juvenile sexual assault cases.
Today, Congressman John Carter (TX-31) released the following statement after the House passed the FY 2018 Consolidated Appropriations Act, providing much-needed longer-term funding for our Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and border security infrastructure.

The STOP School Violence Act authorizes funding to prevent school violence, including technology to improve school security and training for local law enforcement, staff, and students to help identify and stop student violence.
