Representative John Carter (TX-31) released the following statement after the House passed a Continuing Resolution to fund the government through November 21, 2019. “While I wish we were passing the final FY20 appropriations bills, I support this Continuing Resolution to keep critical functions of our government running past the end of September. I never like governing with repeated short-term solutions, but this CR will ensure that veterans services continue, our men and women in uniform get paid on time, and critical homeland security initiatives carry on. This CR will give the House and Senate Appropriations Committees the time to finalize bipartisan appropriations bills and fund the government through the fiscal year. I look forward to working with my colleagues to get these bills done.” |
