(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) voted to support our military, strengthen our national defense, protect seniors from sky rocketing premiums, reduce the deficit, and repeal an Obamacare employer mandate.
Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) voted to support our military, strengthen our national defense, protect seniors from sky rocketing premiums, reduce the deficit, and repeal an Obamacare employer mandate. “We must provide for our military, and national security,” said Rep. Carter. “While this Budget Act is not perfect, it puts our nation on a path to restore our military might, and strengthen our national security. At the same time, we protect our seniors by blocking a significant increase in Medicare premiums and we repeal a detrimental employer mandate from Obamacare.” “As the representative to Fort Hood, I believe we must do everything possible to ensure The Great Place remains the best military installation in the world, while maintaining budget restraints for our federal government. This budget will provide our military with the certainty they need to plan ahead instead of taking a paycheck-to-paycheck approach through annual continued resolutions. At a time when our nation is facing increased global threats, we must protect the homeland, support our troops, and strengthen our military. Over the past few years, the military has taken substantial budget hits. This budget is a significant step in helping to stop the gutting of our armed forces."
