Rep. John Carter (R-TX31) is releasing the following statement regarding Tuesday’s announcement that the ATF will no longer pursue a ban on M855 “green tip” ammunition used in the AR-15 rifle.

“Today is a day of triumph for the sacred right to bear arms for all Americans. My neighbors and I are tired of the Second Amendment right being attacked. Despite the Administrations attempts, I will always take the fight to those who attack our right to bear arms. I was proud to cosponsor legislation to block the ATF or any federal agency from prohibiting the manufacture, important and sale on this ammo. The halt to the ATF’s ban on M855 green tip ammo is a clear victory against the President’s overreach. I want to thank Rep. Goodlatte and Rep. Culberson for their leadership on this matter.”
