Congressman John Carter (R-TX31) is releasing the following statement after U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen issued an injunction to temporarily halt the President’s overreaching executive order on amnesty. "The decision to block President Obama's executive amnesty by U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen, coupled with the fact that the House of Representatives passed the DHS Appropriations bill, should send a clear message to Senate Democrats and President Obama. I urge the Senate to debate my DHS Appropriations bill, pass it and send it to the President to sign. If the President vetoes it, then he is clearly ignoring the will of the American people, the will of Congress and the will of the courts." Rep. Carter is Chairman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee. His DHS Appropriations Bill, which includes several amendments to stop the President’s amnesty plan, was passed by the House of Representatives in January. #### |
