Carter Announces $2.9 million to Upgrade Taylor Airport

(ROUND ROCK, TX) - Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) is proud to announce that the Texas Department of Transportation, acting on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration, has awarded the City of Taylor an airport improvement grant. This grant, at an amount of $2,918,200, will fund improvements to the Taylor Municipal Airport. In particular, the grant will provide much needed pavement and hangar improvements to the airport.

Deadline Approaching for Congressional Veterans Commendation Nominations

(WASHINGTON, D.C.)– The deadline to nominate a veteran for the 2016 Congressional Veteran Commendation (CVC) is fast approaching. The final date to submit a CVC application to Congressman John R. Carter (R-TX-31) for consideration is August 19th. The CVC program allows the distinguished veterans of District 31 the opportunity to be formally honored for their wartime sacrifices and peacetime community involvement. The CVC program is nomination-based, designed to recognize veterans within the 31st district of Texas and preserve their stories for future generations of America.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) will host, along with Senators Cornyn and Cruz, and Reps. McCaul, Flores and Williams, a forum for our U.S. Military Academies. The forum, on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at Texas State University – Round Rock, is open to students interested in attending a military academy. They will be able to meet with admissions personnel, congressional staff members, current academy cadets, and ROTC advisors.

Carter, Texas Republicans Send Letter to President Obama Regarding Syrian Refugees

Dan Patrick in sending a letter to President Obama regarding the Syrian Refugee crisis. This bill targets critical programs such as aviation security, border and immigration enforcement, customs activities, the protections against cyberterrorism, natural disaster response, and efforts to stop smuggling of drugs and people into the United States. The bill is now set to be considered before the full House.
