Economy and Tax Reform

I firmly believe that conservative tax policies will drive economic success. We must focus on policies that will strengthen the middle class and grow small businesses.

I proudly supported the Tax Cut and Jobs Act (TCJA), which reduced tax rates for most Americans. The TCJA keeps more money in Central Texans' wallets and ushered in the most robust economy in decades.

In this recent Congress, I have co-sponsored several bills to strengthen our tax code and return conservative Texas values into our tax code.

  • H.R. 1323 Taxpayer Reciept Act: Requirs the Department of Treasury to provide each taxpayer a one-page estimate of how such tax-payer's money was spent by the government during the immediately preceding calendar year.
  • H.R. 2558  ALIGN Act: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to permanently allow a tax deduction at the time an investment in qualified property is made.
  • H.R. 2691 American Workfroce Empowerment Act: To amend the Internal revenue Code of 1986 to permit 529 plans to be used for certain non-degree technical training certificate programs and apprenticeship programs.

I assure you that I will continue to push for common-sense legislation that keeps more money in your pocket.
