Carter Statement on Motion to Table Censure of Adam Schiff

Representative John Carter (TX-31) released the following statement after opposing partisan effort to prevent consideration of measure to condemn and censure Rep. Adam Schiff.

Representative John Carter (TX-31) released the following statement after opposing partisan effort to prevent consideration of measure to condemn and censure Rep. Adam Schiff.

“I am disappointed that House Democrats played partisan politics and prevented consideration of H.Res. 630 to condemn and censure Rep. Adam Schiff. As chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Schiff recited a false transcript of President Trump’s conversation with Ukraine President Zelensky, mislead the American people, brought disrepute upon the House of Representatives, and made a mockery of the impeachment process,” said Rep. Carter. “While he is obligated to present evidence objectively and without bias, his actions have gravely hindered the ability of the Intelligence Committee to fulfill its critical oversight responsibilities and is not befitting an elected Member of the House.”

Rep. Carter represents Texas District 31, which includes Fort Hood, the largest active duty armored military installation in the free world. He serves as co-chairman of the Congressional Army Caucus and Ranking Member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Appropriations.
