Chairman Carter: "Attorney General Holder's voting rights statement is discriminatory to Texans"
Washington, DC,
July 25, 2013
Congressman John Carter, Chairman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, is releasing the following statement regarding U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s recent statement regarding the Supreme Court’s decision and Texas voting rights. “Texas has continually been a target of discrimination by the Obama administration including Attorney General Eric Holder, whose claims are not only false but also discriminatory. This is clear evidence that the Obama Administration is once again overstepping the duties of the Executive Branch with its ‘do what we want’ attitude, despite a direct ruling by the Supreme Court. This Administration has no right to step upon the rights of Texans.” |
