Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R TX-31) released the following statement in regards to the Texas Transportation Commission's newly approved state and federal aviation grant awarded to Killeen, TX.
Carter Announces Grants to Support Skylark Field Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R TX-31) released the following statement in regards to the Texas Transportation Commission’s newly approved state and federal aviation grant awarded to Killeen, TX. “This aviation grant is a win for all Central Texans, and will bring key infrastructure development to Bell County as our district continues to grow and flourish. It is very important that we continue to work to improve economic opportunities throughout our communities, and expanding aviation is a great step in the right direction.” The Texas Transportation Commission approved approximately $600,000 in federal funding and $685,800 in state funding for the design and construction of a hangar and a taxiway at Skylark Field in Killeen, TX. Rep. Carter represents Texas District 31, which includes Fort Hood, the largest active duty armored military installation in the free world. He serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, co-chairman of the Congressional Army Caucus, is on the Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. ### |
