Rep. Carter and Rep. Williams Secure $49.8 million for Ft. Hood Renovations

(WASHINGTON, DC) –Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) and Rep. Rodger Williams (R-TX-25) were notified that Fort Hood would be receiving $49.8 million for the renovation of the 1st Cavalry Headquarters. This follows their request to the Secretary of the Army to use Sustainment Renovation and Maintenance funds for this project.

Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) and Rep. Rodger Williams (R-TX-25) were notified that Fort Hood would be receiving $49.8 million for the renovation of the 1st Cavalry Headquarters.  This follows their request to the Secretary of the Army to use Sustainment Renovation and Maintenance funds for this project.

“This is great news for Fort Hood, and especially for the 1st Cavalry,” said Rep. Carter. “ We must supply our Warfighters with the facilities and tools needed to ensure we remain the strongest, most prepared military force.”

Rep. Williams said, “I am thrilled that Fort Hood will now have the means to make these much needed improvements. The Great Place is a treasure of Texas and critical to our national security posture, and it is imperative we provide support so it can continue to live up to its reputation as a gold standard of our military installations.”
