Obama Failure to Comply with Sequestration Transparency Act Shows Bad Faith

(ROUND ROCK, TX) – President Obama’s failure to meet today’s deadline for compliance with the Sequestration Transparency Act shows continued bad faith by the Administration in working for a bi-partisan solution to massive defense cuts, according to House Republican Conference Secretary John Carter.

“It is amazing that this President has failed to comply with a law that he just signed last month,” says Carter.  “The President designed the whole sequester budget cut process in the first place, pushed Congress into approving it on threat of a downgrade in the U.S. credit rating,  and promised to work for an alternate budget solution.  We have already passed a budget alternative in the House, the President has rejected it, and has now even failed the deadline to simply report how he will enact the cuts if we don’t reach a compromise.     This is more than a breach of promise; this is a breach of law, which seems to be a hallmark of this Administration.”
