Washington, Mar 28, 2005 - Round Rock - U.S. Representative John R. Carter (TX-31) invites area high school students interested in attending a military service academy to an “Academy Day” event Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2005 at 2:30 at Bowie High School in Austin. Representatives from the U.S. Naval Academy, Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy will be available to meet with prospective students. The Congressional staff of Representative Carter will also be accessible during the event. The “Academy Day” program will feature information involved in securing an academy appointment through the nomination process. The Congressional staff and admissions representatives will be at the event to provide assistance and information for interested students. Students in the 31st Congressional District are encouraged to submit applications to Congressman Carter during their junior year of high school. The applications should be mailed to the Round Rock District Office at One Financial Centre, 1717 North IH 35, Suite 303, Round Rock, TX 78664.
