Congressman John Carter (TX-31) announced the start of the TX-31 United States service academy nomination process today.

“One of the many honors I have as the representative of Texas’ 31^st Congressional District is nominating the best and brightest from Central Texas for an appointment to the military service academies. The desire to serve one’s country is commendable, and it is a privilege to work with these students as they complete the process for an appointment. I’m very proud of the TX-31 students that have received appointments through my office, and this year I look forward to continuing the tradition of nominating our rising stars,” Congressman Carter said.

Important Details for the Academy Nominations Process:

• Please visit www.carter.house.gov/service-academy-nominations/ to find the application packet, important deadlines, and additional information
• Applications must be received by October 10, 2018 at 5:00 pm CST to advance in the process
• Interviews for applicants with members of Congressman Carter’s Academy Nomination Board will be conducted in November

Rep. Carter represents Texas District 31, which includes Fort Hood, the largest active duty armored military installation in the free world. He serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, co-chairman of the Congressional Army Caucus, is on the Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.
