U.S. Rep John Carter, R-Round Rock, and other members of Congress, including Steve Womack, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Steve Russell and Sanford Bishop, have introduced the Credentialing, Educating, and Relevant Training Initiative For Your Heroes Act.

This legislation will permit individuals who are eligible for the Defense Department’s tuition assistance program to use their benefit for licensing, credentialing, and certification programs offered by entities other than an institution of higher education, according to a news release Wednesday from Carter, whose district includes a portion of Fort Hood.
