Congressman John Carter (TX-31) hosted the 3rd Annual Congressional Veteran Commendation (CVC) Ceremony today to recognize twelve District 31 veterans nominated for their selfless service to the Central Texas community and our country.
(ROUND ROCK, TX) – Congressman John Carter (TX-31) hosted the 3rd Annual Congressional Veteran Commendation (CVC) Ceremony today to recognize twelve District 31 veterans nominated for their selfless service to the Central Texas community and our country. “The Congressional Veteran Commendation Ceremony is a special opportunity for Central Texans to express our overwhelming appreciation for the veterans who have served our nation honorably in our Armed Forces and continued their selfless service to better our community,” Representative Carter said. “The twelve distinguished veterans honored at today’s ceremony have gone above and beyond answering the call to serve, and we will be forever grateful for their dedication and sacrifice.” The twelve veterans honored at today’s ceremony are as follows: Corporal Pete Aranda, Jr., USA Captain Skip Blancett, USN (Ret) Sergeant Larry Bush, USMC Lieutenant Colonel Pat Christ, USA (Ret) Captain Dennis M. DeWine, USA First Lieutenant Phillip Duprey, USA Staff Sergeant James W. Harrell, USMC Staff Sergeant Rufus Honeycutt, USMC Major Barry Richard, USAF (Ret) Lieutenant Colonel Gery Brent Truitt, USA (Ret) Colonel Raul G. Villaronga, USA (Ret) First Sergeant Will Williams, USA (Ret) Rep. Carter represents Texas District 31, which includes Fort Hood, the largest active duty armored military installation in the free world. He serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, co-chairman of the Congressional Army Caucus, is on the Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. ### |
