Carter Hosts 2nd Annual Congressional Veterans Commendation Ceremony

On October 22nd, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) will be hosting the 2nd Annual Congressional Veterans Commendation ceremony, where he will formally honor distinguished veterans of District 31 for their wartime sacrifices and peacetime community involvement. The CVC program is nomination-based, designed to recognize veterans within the 31st District of Texas and preserve their stories for future generations of America.

(ROUND ROCK, TX) - On October 22nd, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) will be hosting the 2nd Annual Congressional Veterans Commendation ceremony, where he will formally honor distinguished veterans of District 31 for their wartime sacrifices and peacetime community involvement. The CVC program is nomination-based, designed to recognize veterans within the 31st District of Texas and preserve their stories for future generations of America.

“The CVC program is a great way to honor the brave men and women across our community for their faithful service to protect our great Nation and their continued service to their community,” said Rep. Carter. “Central Texas has a proud tradition of serving in the armed forces and I have personally met with many who deserve this honor and exemplify the essence of the American spirit.”

The Commendation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2:00PM at Texas A&M University-Central Texas, 1001 Leadership Place, Killeen, TX 76549. The event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Rep. Carter represents Texas District 31, which includes Fort Hood, the largest active duty armored military installation in the free world. He serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, co-chairman of the House Army Caucus, is on the Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.
