(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) voted in support of the FY 2017 Defense Appropriations bill. The bill passed the House and will now be sent to the Senate for consideration. The legislation funds critical national security needs, including military operations and readiness programs, as well as health and quality-of-life programs for our troops and military families. This bill will increase troop levels, fund a pay increase for our soldiers, and provide for the investments into upgraded equipment, technology, and infrastructure.

Carter. “For all the values that we hold so dear, I do not believe there is any alternative than to support those that defend us. At a time of increasing global threats we must reverse the course laid out by President Obama, and restore our military might, upgrade our technology, and invest in our soldiers. This is what the House has done with the defense appropriations bill, and the President should stand up for our military and support this important legislation.” To read Rep.
