Carter Pleased with New 31st District Lines
Washington, DC,
February 28, 2012
For immediate release: February 28, 2012 The apparent final version of the 31st Congressional District lines are very like the initial lines drawn by the Texas legislature, and lines that are agreeable to current Congressman John Carter. “While it is disappointing to lose all the rural counties that have been a part of our District for the past several years, we knew that was coming based on our tremendous population growth here in Central Texas,” says Carter, a former state court judge from Williamson County. “The district outline today is essentially Bell and Williamson County with a couple small areas removed, and that is what we have been expecting, and about as well as can be achieved in keeping counties and communities from being split. I would be very pleased to represent this new District in the next Congress.” The New Map: http://gis1.tlc.state.tx.us/?PlanHeader=PLANc235 U.S. Rep. John Carter |
