Stop the EPA Carjacking of CAFE Standards
Washington, DC,
January 30, 2012
Stop the EPA Carjacking of CAFE Standards: Millions of working families could be blocked from buying an entry-level car unless Congress puts the brakes on the EPA scheme to hike new car prices by over $3000 per vehicle in 2025. Please urge your Member to join Conference Secretary John Carter, Congressman Steve Austria, and a host of other GOP Members tomorrow night, Tuesday, January 31 to protest the EPA and California’s attempt to bypass the law assigning CAFEjurisdiction to NHTSA and raise standards to 54mpg by 2025. Both EPA and NHTSA research show the new regulations would add an average $3000 to the price of a new car if allowed to stand.Talking points and posters will be available in advance and on the floor. Video clips will be available afterwards.
