Washington, Jul 28, 2005 -

U.S. Representative John R. Carter (TX-31) was pleased to announce $365,000 has been secured for the sewer system in Liberty Hill. The funding was included in on H.R. 2361, Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for FY 2006,Conference Report, which was approved by the House today.

“This funding is vital for the construction and completion of Liberty Hill’s utility needs,” said Carter. “I was just in Liberty Hill and I continue to be amazed by its growth.”

This funding is a continuation of the $250,000 Carter secured last year and will assist the City of Liberty Hill in constructing a sewer system in an area of town in which the population is outstripping the capacity of the current facility. The City of Liberty Hill is working to protect the health of its citizens as well as remain compliant with standards established by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

“As Liberty Hill grows, its needs grow and we need to work to fulfill them so that its infrastructure and utilities can function in a proper manner,” said Carter. “The funding for this project is long overdue. With a proper infrastructure in place, Liberty Hill’s growth will continue.”

The bill will now be sent to the President’s desk for his signature.
