Washington, Feb 5, 2008 -

U.S. Congressman John R. Carter (TX-31), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, today announced that $350,000 has been included in the 2008 Omnibus spending bill for the North East Inner Loop in Georgetown.

“I am glad to see these critical funds have been signed into law and are now on there way to Georgetown,” Congressman Carter said.  “Central Texas is booming and our roads must be able to keep up with the growing population and economy.  These funds are critical to rebuild the pavement and realign the lanes on the NE Loop in Georgetown, and will provide added capacity and safety to accommodate the recent developments in the area.”

The 2008 Omnibus spending bill passed the House and the Senate in 2007 and was signed into law by the President late last year.
