Washington, DC, Jun 12, 2006 - U.S. Representative John Carter (TX-31) has announced that the Rosebud Economic Development Corporation has received a $100,000 Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) for business expansion in Falls County. “These federal funds will provide businesses in the Rosebud community with a vital financial boost that will assist in creating new jobs,” Congressman Carter said. “The support provided by the USDA’s Rural Development program will help a number of businesses throughout Falls County to better succeed.” Specifically, these Rural Development funds will be used for two business expansions as well as the creation of a revolving loan fund to assist approximately six new businesses in hiring employees, and purchasing equipment and real estate. The Rural Business Enterprise Grant will be provided as a part of the larger USDA Rural Development Business and Cooperative Programs (BCP). These programs invest financial resources and provide technical assistance to businesses and cooperatives located in rural communities. ###
