Representative John Carter (TX-31) reintroduced the Resist Executive Amnesty on Defense Installations (READI) Act this week. The bill would prohibit the housing of illegal immigrants on military installations in the United States. The bill is cosponsored by Representatives Brian Babin (TX-36), Ken Calvert (CA-41), Pat Fallon (TX-04), Richard Hudson (NC-09) Michael McCaul (TX-10), Troy Nehls (TX-22), and Pete Sessions (TX-17).

"Under President Biden's border policies, illegal immigrants are pouring over at a record pace," said Representative Carter. "This bill would ensure that President Biden's dereliction of duty on the border isn't the burden of our service members and their families. America's military has one job. Housing illegal migrants on military installations detracts from that duty and represents a massive security risk."

“Our border crisis needs to be solved at the border and it is unacceptable to allow illegal immigrants on to our military installations," said Rep. Ken Calvert. "The READI Act will ensure President Biden’s failure to address the border crisis does not negatively impact the training and readiness of our military and the security of these installations.”

"Not only have Biden's lax immigration policies led to a crisis at our southern border, but they have impacted our national security and military as well," commented Rep. Pat Fallon. "The surge in illegal crossings has led to a housing crisis which is now being put upon our servicemen and women to handle. We cannot afford to continue to house illegal aliens on military bases in the U.S."

“Unvetted, illegal aliens should not be housed on high-security military installations," said Congressman Troy E. Nehls. “If a contractor has to be a vetted permanent resident or U.S. citizen to work there, these folks should also have to be as well. I am proud to be an original cosponsor for Judge Carter’s Resist Executive Amnesty on Defense Installations (READI) Act. Ask Quantico how this worked out for their military installation when the housing developments and hospitals were overrun with hordes of unvetted Afghans in 2021."
