(Washington, DC) - Congressman John Carter (TX-31) released the following statement after President Biden's State of the Union address.

 

“Since President Biden took office, the American people have been dealing with crisis after crisis. From runaway inflation, to record border crossings, to global instability, and rising crime, Americans are not better off under Democrat rule.

 

“The American people know that President Biden’s agenda has failed them, but he made it clear tonight that he doesn’t recognize the pain he’s inflicted. Instead, he chose to avoid taking responsibility for his bungling leadership that’s allowed Russia to rise, cartels and drug dealers to infiltrate our borders, and criminals to terrorize our communities.  

 

“President Biden did get one thing right tonight when he said that the American people are strong, but he must realize they’re strong in spite of his policies. President Biden must face the facts. His agenda and the agenda of the Democrat Party have been detrimental to the nation, and it’s time for a reversal. It’s time for common sense to prevail. It’s time to unleash American energy, secure our border, support law enforcement and counter our adversaries’ aggression through strength. I am committed to fighting President Biden’s failed agenda so we can restore American greatness and unleash a new era of prosperity for the American people.”
