Representative John Carter (TX-31) announced the allocation of over $4.4 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and HOME Grants for Texas’ 31st District today. These grants are funded through Representative Carter’s Appropriations Committee. Killeen, Temple, Round Rock and Williamson County are all recipients of the funding.

“These grants are a win for Texas’ 31st district and will improve quality of life for Central Texans,” said Representative Carter. “Community Development Block Grants and HOME Grants assist municipalities with addressing local needs that have a big impact on residents. As a top Republican on the Appropriations Committee in charge of funding these grants, I’ve fought to bring these resources back to the people of my district and I’m thrilled that over $4.4 million will be used to improve our communities.”

The funding is appropriated as follows:

  • Williamson County: $1,596,257 in CDBG dollars;
  • Killeen: $1,043,192 in CBDG dollars; $469,707 in HOME Grant dollars;
  • Round Rock: $675,500 in CDBG dollars;
  • Temple: $626,742 in CDBG dollars.
