Representative John Carter (TX-31) announced the allocation of over $4.4 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and HOME Grants for Texas’ 31^st District today. These grants are funded through Representative Carter’s Appropriations Committee. Killeen, Temple, Round Rock and Williamson County are all recipients of the funding.

“These grants are a win for Texas’ 31^st district and will improve quality of life for Central Texans,” said Representative Carter. “Community Development Block Grants and HOME Grants assist municipalities with addressing local needs that have a big impact on residents. As a top Republican on the Appropriations Committee in charge of funding these grants, I’ve fought to bring these resources back to the people of my district and I’m thrilled that over $4.4 million will be used to improve our communities.”

The funding is appropriated as follows:

• Williamson County: $1,596,257 in CDBG dollars;
• Killeen: $1,043,192 in CBDG dollars; $469,707 in HOME Grant dollars;
• Round Rock: $675,500 in CDBG dollars;
• Temple: $626,742 in CDBG dollars.
