Congressman John Carter (TX-31) announced on Twitter that Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody will be his State of the Union guest tomorrow. Sheriff Chody has served our community at nearly every level of public safety, from the U.S. Army and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, to leading Williamson County’s top public safety initiatives.

“I’m pleased to welcome Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody as my guest to President Trump’s State of the Union,” said Congressman Carter. “Law enforcement officers, like Sheriff Chody, put their lives on the line every day. It’s no secret that the rhetoric and policies that come out of Washington have a great impact on their jobs. They deserve our utmost support, and the resources to stay safe and do their job effectively.”

Certainly a historic opportunity for any non-congressional member to attend such a national an important event,” Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody said.

Rep. Carter represents Texas District 31, which includes Fort Hood, the largest active duty armored military installation in the free world. He serves as co-chairman of the Congressional Army Caucus and Ranking Member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Appropriations.
