(Round Rock, TX) – Congressman John Carter (TX-31) commissioned a new Challenge Coin design created by local high school artist, Rowan Dennis, from Liberty Hill High School. Congressman Carter opened up the opportunity to design Texas’ 31st Congressional District’s Challenge Coin to all of the 2018 Congressional Art Competition winners.

A Challenge Coin is a coin or medallion that symbolizes patriotism and American pride and are typically collected by Service Members.

“Since I’ve been in Congress, I’ve awarded Challenge Coins to the many men and women in uniform and our veterans, as a way to say thank you for their service and sacrifice. Our new Challenge Coin design reflects my commitment to all of America’s Armed Services as the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Chairman, and my special bond with our warriors stationed at Ft. Hood,” Congressman Carter said. “Rowan is a very talented artist, and she did a wonderful job designing this special piece of TX-31 history. I’m very excited to begin giving our new Challenge Coins out as I meet with my constituents across the district this August.”
