Congressman John Carter (TX-31) released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 4667, the Emergency Disaster Aid Package. “The people impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, and the California wildfires are suffering in the aftereffects of these tragic natural disasters. This legislation provides an additional $81 billion to help rebuild, recover and reduce the impact of future natural disasters. “Americans still need help as they continue to clean-up and rebuild their waterlogged homes, or search through the ashes left behind by deadly wildfires. This money will go a long way in helping to sustain the rebuilding efforts and return our neighbors back to normal as quickly as possible.” Rep. He serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Appropriations, co-chairman of the Congressional Army Caucus, is on the Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. # # # |
