Today, Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) voted in support of, and the House passed, the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. This bill will help more Americans enter the workforce with the skills necessary to compete for and succeed in high-wage, high-demand technical careers. The bill ensures career and technical education programs are flexible enough to adapt to the needs of new industries, accountable to ensure every child has a chance to succeed, and robust to provide support for our educators.

On this day 15 years ago our great nation experienced the most deadly terrorist attack on our soil, killing 2,996 people, injuring many more thousands, and forever impacting millions of people across the country and around the globe. September 11, 2001 will be a day that forever changed our nation, and our world. The murderous thugs who attacked our nation, deliberately and with evil intent, attacked our freedoms, our way of life, but not our resolve.

The discussion was co-hosted by Texas State Technical College (TSTC) and took place at the East Williamson County Higher Education Center in Hutto. More than 30 Central Texas educators, local business owners, professional associations, and state policymakers participated in a lively discussion on finding innovative solutions to incentivize high school students to pursue a career in the trades.

(ROUND ROCK, TX) - Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) is proud to announce that the Texas Department of Transportation, acting on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration, has awarded the City of Taylor an airport improvement grant. This grant, at an amount of $2,918,200, will fund improvements to the Taylor Municipal Airport. In particular, the grant will provide much needed pavement and hangar improvements to the airport.
(ROUND ROCK, TX) - On Friday July 22, 2016, Hutto Fire Rescue/Williamson County Emergency Services District #3 (Hutto Fire Rescue) received word from the office of U.S. Representative John R. Carter (R-TX-31) that they would be receiving a federal grant for firefighter staffing.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.)– The deadline to nominate a veteran for the 2016 Congressional Veteran Commendation (CVC) is fast approaching. The final date to submit a CVC application to Congressman John R. Carter (R-TX-31) for consideration is August 19th. The CVC program allows the distinguished veterans of District 31 the opportunity to be formally honored for their wartime sacrifices and peacetime community involvement. The CVC program is nomination-based, designed to recognize veterans within the 31st district of Texas and preserve their stories for future generations of America.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Rep. John R. Carter (R-TX-31) will host, along with Senators Cornyn and Cruz, and Reps. McCaul, Flores and Williams, a forum for our U.S. Military Academies. The forum, on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at Texas State University – Round Rock, is open to students interested in attending a military academy. They will be able to meet with admissions personnel, congressional staff members, current academy cadets, and ROTC advisors.
